Compote is a dessert prepared by boiling dried fruits with sugar water in Turkish cuisine. Its name comes from the Persian word for “hoş ab”. Companion is prepared especially during Ramadan and for meals where the whole family gather. It is consumed cold.

1 glass of sugar. (I do not use it upon request) .
Prepation: The dried fruits are cut into small pieces. The water is boiled in a deep pot. Then, dried fruits and optionally sugar are added. After cooking for 5 minutes, it is taken from the heat. It is left to cool.
